In 2007, David Schramm built three guitars for the Guitar Foundation of America
Convention. This is one of those three. The soundboard is cedar and the lattice bracing is made from redwood.

Rosetta

This guitar has a very traditional look by the combination of cocobolo back and sides matched with a cedar soundboard. The bridge is padauk, the armrest is rosewood and  head face plate is cocobolo.
The punchy crisp highs
and freely resonant basses created by this guitar produce an overall warm and power-
ful tone that is well-balanced without being
dark or soggy.
We find the playability and feel of Schramm's neck and set up to be excellent.

You are a great player as well as maker. How does being a player affect you as a guitar maker? I think this answer may seem obvious but I'd like your take.
SCHRAMM  I don't see how guys that don't play can build a guitar well.

For my playing, your guitars are remarkably easy to play. The neck, frets and set up are just perfect. Did Gilbert influence this or did you arrive at this design due to your background as a player?
SCHRAMM It is from Gilbert over the years, but as a maker and player, if a player is getting a buzz then I look at how the player is playing to see if it is the guitar or the player. Some tops are stiffer and you can get away with things. With lattice tops you have to learn how the guitar reacts because the top is so active. The string vibration is considerable. I am still adjusting that with stiffer bracing to see what affect that has on the sound vibration.
